KENINGAU : The Al-Munawarah Kelas Bimbingan Saudara Kita (KBSK) group in the Apin-Apin zone has received a valuable boost in its efforts to promote Islamic culture and community engagement.
This is due to the contribution of a set of kompang drums from Datuk Robert Tawik, Assistant Minister of Public Works and Member of the State Assemblyman for Bingkor.
The kompang set was handed over on behalf of Robert by Zaki Zakaria, Community Supervisor of the N.40 Bingkor Unit for Community Development Leaders (UPPM), and was received by KBSK Chairman, Hassan Karim.
The donation is expected to enhance KBSK’s involvement in cultural and religious programmes, particularly by encouraging greater youth participation and preserving the traditional art of kompang as a unifying element within the community.
“This contribution will go a long way in helping us enrich our activities, especially during community and religious events,” said Hassan.
“It also serves as motivation for our members to continue promoting positive values and social unity.”
Robert, through his representative, conveyed his hope that the kompang drums would be fully utilised by KBSK in strengthening community bonds and encouraging deeper engagement in Islamic cultural practices.
