KOTA KINABALU: Members of the Kadazandusun Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) paid a courtesy visit to POIC today.
Led by KCCI President Datuk Ladislaus Maluda, the delegation met with POIC Chairman Datuk Yong Teck Lee and senior executives of the organisation. The visit aimed to strengthen ties and explore mutual business opportunities within the region’s growing economic landscape.
The discussions centred on identifying avenues for collaboration between KCCI and POIC, particularly in areas that could benefit both parties. It was an opportunity to discuss strategic initiatives, joint ventures, and investment prospects that could facilitate economic growth and development.
During the visit, POIC’s Head of Marketing and Sales Division, Rose Bun, delivered a comprehensive briefing on the organisation’s core roles and strategic objectives. The meeting underscored a shared commitment to fostering economic collaboration and leveraging regional strengths to create sustainable business ecosystems. Both sides expressed optimism about forging stronger partnerships and exploring innovative projects that could benefit the wider community and industry stakeholders.

“KCCI will also be hosting its Harvest Festival (Kaamatan) and Gawai celebrations in collaboration with our Dayak counterparts, marking our turn to host this year. These festivities are more than mere cultural celebrations; they serve as valuable opportunities for the business community to network and explore potential collaborations. Invitations have been extended to the POIC Chairman to join us in the celebrations. He has expressed his intention to participate,” he said.
“The event incorporates cultural elements, fostering unity and shared celebration among business and community leaders.”
He shared, “The presence of our Dayak counterparts in the Oil and Gas sector, has spanned 20 to 30 years. In contrast, KCCI members are just beginning to establish their footprint in this industry.” This presents a significant opportunity for networking and future collaboration, paving the way for mutually beneficial ventures.
