KOTA KINABALU: Api-Api Assemblywoman Datuk Seri Christina Liew visited Kg Numbak to inspect the village jetty, which has been extended by a further 50 feet following a request from the Chief Coordinator for Api-Api Constituency, Rano Buisay, on Tuesday.
"The extension aims to reduce congestion, thereby enhancing safety and protecting children who use the facility for their daily boat trips to and from school," she said.
Expressing gratitude to the Api-Api Assemblywoman, Rano stated that the villagers were very pleased, as the former 10-foot-long jetty can now accommodate three boats simultaneously.
Liew also examined the condition of a newly-completed 100-foot-long wooden bridge, which was built to replace a broken structure.
Last year, a 200-foot-long dilapidated wooden bridge in the village was also repaired.
Liew was accompanied by her Political Secretary, Vivien Lee Mee Peng, and the Api-Api Community Development Leader (PPM), Theresa Chong Mui Lan.
