KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), through its airlines Malaysia Airlines and Firefly will operate more than 2,700 domestic flights during the upcoming Ramadan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri peak travel period.
In a statement today, the group said Malaysia Airlines will operate up to 1,557 flights, while Firefly will provide up to 1,176 services connecting key destinations across Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia.
The expanded flight schedule is expected to offer travellers greater flexibility and more options in planning their festive journeys.
“To meet strong travel demand, Malaysia Airlines will upgrade aircraft on high-traffic routes, including Alor Setar, Kota Bharu, Terengganu, Miri, Sibu, Kuching, Tawau, Sandakan and Kota Kinabalu.
“The airline will also introduce overnight services to Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan and Kuching to maximise travel time and improve connectivity,” it said.
The group added that, to complement the additional capacity, both airlines are offering fixed all-in one-way fares for key East Malaysia routes.
Malaysia Airlines fares start from RM339 to Sarawak and RM399 to Sabah on selected flights, while Firefly fares begin from RM298 to Sarawak and RM348 to Sabah.
The promotional fares are available for purchase from now until 29 March 2026, for travel from 17 to 29 March, exclusively through the airlines’ official websites and mobile applications.
“In support of the government’s festive travel initiative, both carriers will also implement capped fares on selected East Malaysia routes.
“Malaysia Airlines will offer maximum all-in one-way fares of up to RM569, while Firefly will cap fares at up to RM548 all-in one-way for travel between 17 and 20 March 2026,” it added.
MAG said the initiative reflects its ongoing commitment to connecting people and places across the country during the Ramadan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri period, enabling meaningful family reunions and smoother travel experiences throughout the festive season.
