RANAU: The Community Education Division (PENMAS) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) continues to strengthen its collaboration with the Integrity Unit of MARA in promoting anti-corruption advocacy through the implementation of the Anti-Corruption Student Army Camp (Kem AMAR) at MARA Educational Institutions (IPMa) Series 2, 2025, on Sunday.
The camp, held from 22nd to 24th August at Damai Eco Ranch, Ranau, involved 81 students from various courses at Mara Skills Institute (IKM) Kota Kinabalu, including Diploma in Electrical Competency, Diploma in 4WD Automotive Technology, and Diploma in Automotive Technology.
During the closing ceremony, PENMAS Director, Datuk TPj Ahmad Nizam Ismail, emphasised the importance of students upholding academic integrity to produce highly competent and competitive TVET students upon graduation.
He explained that Academic Integrity, which refers to originality in completing assignments and transparency in assessments, is an uncompromisable fundamental.
He added that MACC regards academic integrity highly and views it as a long-term national investment in nurturing future leaders who are free from corruption, abuse of power, and misconduct.
The establishment of 55 AMAR units nationwide since 2013 is a testament to MARA’s ongoing commitment to spreading the message of cultivating a generation of leaders committed to integrity.
Meanwhile, MARA Sabah Director Dr. Shahrizin Abdul Sarhadat, who officiated the programme, welcomed such initiatives and hoped the collaboration could continue in the future.
He stressed that instilling integrity must begin within each student as an early step in strengthening moral character.
Also present were Sabah MACC Director Datuk TPj Fuad Bee Basrah, IKM Kota Kinabalu Director  Abdul Munap Tahir, and Ranau MARA Science College Principal Ismail  Badri.
