KOTA BELUD: Kadamaian State Assemblyman (ADUN), Datuk Ewon Benedick, presented contributions totalling RM40,000 to seven mosques and a group of five surau in the Kadamaian area in conjunction with the Hari Raya Korban celebration.

The recipients were Masjid Tengkurus, Masjid Tambulion, Masjid Al-Mubarak Kampung Lasau Podi, Masjid Lompios, Masjid Takulung, Masjid Al-Ikhwan Kampung Rajunah, Masjid Lobong-Lobong, as well as a group of five surau comprising Surau Narinang, Melangkap Tiong, Lingkubang, Podos, and Pinolobuh.

The Deputy Chief Minister III, who is also Sabah’s Minister of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport, presented the contributions after holding a meeting with mosque committee chairpersons from across the Kadamaian constituency at the Kadamaian ADUN Office here today.

Ewon expressed hope that the contributions would assist the mosques and surau involved in carrying out the korban rituals in conjunction with this year’s Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration.

“I would also like to express my gratitude to Cement Industries Sabah (CIS), a subsidiary of the Sabah State Government, for channelling a total contribution of RM40,000, which has been distributed among all mosques and surau in Kadamaian."

“May the harmony, unity, togetherness and cooperation of the people of Sabah in Kadamaian continue to be strengthened through ongoing initiatives such as this,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Masjid Nurul Huda Tengkurus, Antoni Satu, and a representative of Masjid Kampung Tambulion, Joeharmawi Tindapau, expressed their appreciation to Ewon for the contribution.

“We thank Datuk Ewon for always being attentive to the needs of all levels of society in Kadamaian. Since becoming the people’s representative for Kadamaian, he has provided contributions to the local community every year."

“This contribution helps, to some extent, the mosques and surau in carrying out the korban rituals and preparing necessities for the Hari Raya Korban celebration,” they said.
