KOTA KINABALU: As part of a new Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Maxim E-hailing has launched a collaboration with several health clinics across Kota Kinabalu, marked by a recent presentation ceremony to bolster community healthcare facilities.

This long-term partnership aims to improve comfort and accessibility for clinic visitors by providing essential seating in waiting areas.

Maxim E-hailing has donated 14 sets of chairs to seven clinics, including those in Pekan, Inanam, Menggatal, Telipok, Luyang, Likas, and Jalan Kebajikan.

The new furniture has been strategically installed in high-traffic zones, such as waiting areas near drop-off points, emergency sections, entrances, and consultation rooms.

This initiative addresses the growing demand for better waiting facilities, particularly for vulnerable groups such as the elderly, expectant mothers, children, and families accompanying young patients.

“We believe that even small contributions can make a meaningful difference in people’s daily lives,” said Development Manager Nazrin Muiz.

“Providing proper seating enhances the overall experience for visitors, making it more convenient and comfortable for them whilst they receive treatment.”

Representatives from the participating clinics welcomed the contribution, noting that the additional seating will help alleviate congestion. Chief Assistant Medical Officer Suhaimi Mohammad highlighted the scale of the need at Luyang Health Clinic, which serves over 900 patients daily.

“Previously, some patients had to stand whilst waiting for transport, and now our patients are very happy to have a place to sit before their ride arrives,” he said.

The impact was echoed by patients at the clinic. Norhaidah, who is currently pregnant, shared her relief, “Having an empty chair to sit on feels like heaven. Previously, I had to stand whilst waiting for my family to collect me, but now I have a seat. I would like to thank Maxim for their support.”

Through this project, Maxim E-hailing continues to demonstrate its dedication to supporting local communities and improving public infrastructure

The company remains committed to working alongside local institutions to identify practical solutions that foster a more comfortable and inclusive healthcare environment.
