MEDAC launches CBP and it's mobile bank

PAPAR: The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (MEDAC) collaborated with First Co-opBank (CBP) in Papar to organise the Cooperative Empowerment Programme (MASKOP) here today.


This coincided with the Official Opening Ceremony of the Papar Branch of CBP which was officiated by Datuk Ewon Benedick, the MEDAC Minister.


During the same event, Ewon launched the Mobile Bank CBP, introduced for the first time in the state of Sabah.


This initiative aims to provide convenience to the residents in the Papar area for their banking transactions, especially those in rural areas.


Through this Mobile Bank service, the public can access the same services offered at CBP branches such as deposits, savings, and loan signings.


The programme which aimed to foster a cooperative spirit and enhance public knowledge about cooperatives.was attended by government officials, cooperative members, and entrepreneurs from the Papar district.


This programme also serves as a platform to promote the services and products offered by the cooperative movement to the general public.


MEDAC hoped that the message to cultivate cooperatives among all layers of society can be strengthened, making cooperatives a lifestyle in dealing with the increasing cost of living.


MEDAC has implemented several MASKOP programmes in collaboration with the Malaysian Cooperative Commission (SKM), the Malaysian Cooperative Institute (IKMa), and the National Cooperative Movement of Malaysia (ANGKASA).


MEDAC in this endeavour jointly with CBP showcase CBP as one of the premier cooperatives.


The interesting contents are engagement sessions with SKM and IKMa to explain their functions and roles in developing the cooperative sector.


A briefing session from CBP was also provided to explain to the invitees about the benefits of cooperating and becoming members of the CBP cooperative.


MADANI Cooperative and Entrepreneur Sales (JMKU) held with discounts of up to 30 percent on essential daily necessities in line with the "Wellbeing" element of Malaysia MADANI.


The concerted efforts and endeavours of government agencies, cooperatives, and entrepreneurs involved in this programme hoped to achieve a common goal in realising the vision of MEDAC, which is to make Malaysia an excellent entrepreneurial country that is united, prosperous, and dignified.


Also present during the event was the Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, who is also the Member of Parliament for Papar.
