REMBAU: The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (MEDC) welcomes the desire of large companies to expand their businesses by also developing micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Its Minister, Datuk Ewon Benedick, said that this is to help the government develop the MSME and cooperative community into vendor entrepreneurs or franchise entrepreneurs.

"Today, I am fulfilling an invitation to visit the Worldsign Industries factory in Rembau, Negeri Sembilan. This group of companies has a supply chain from chicken farms, processing plants, logistics networks, consumer stores, and various strategic partners."

The company's well-known brands in the Peninsula are the HyFresh raw chicken product and the ABT Fresh and Frozen Food Supply consumer store chain.

" I support the company's desire to expand its supply chain and strategic partners to Sabah and Sarawak," he said after visiting the WorldSign Industries factory yesterday.

Also present during the visit were senior management of Bank Rakyat, the Malaysian Cooperative Commission (SKM), and the Franchise and Vendor Development Division of KUSKOP.

Ewon also welcomed the company's desire to collaborate with the State Government and enter into contract farming with cooperatives and individuals in Sabah.

"Based on the briefing provided, the company already has a wide network in the Peninsula, and I hope that ministry agencies can help provide the necessary services to realise the company's desire to expand its business network.

"The company is also interested in registering their store chain brand for franchising, thus opening up opportunities for franchise entrepreneurs nationwide," he said.

Ewon and the delegation were given a corporate briefing about WorldSign Industries by the CEO Paul Khoo and then taken to tour the chicken processing, packaging, and freezing center.
