NABAWAN: The Nabawan Estate, Western Region, recorded its highest achievement since 2022 after distributing nearly RM965,342 in dividends to 175 settler participants, equivalent to approximately RM5,516 per person, following strong production performance throughout the past year.

The dividend distribution also marks the highest in the estate’s history since it began operations between 2013 and 2015, covering a total area of 441 hectares.

In 2025, the Nabawan Estate successfully produced 5,599 tonnes of fruit, demonstrating the effectiveness of estate management as well as the continued commitment of all parties, including settlers, workers and coordinators.

The Chairman of the Sabah Land Development Board (LKTNS) and Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (ADUN) for Nabawan, Datuk Abdul Ghani Mohamed Yassin, said that the dividends received were not merely a financial return, but also a symbol of trust and close cooperation between management and the settlers.

“These dividends are the result of hard work and commitment from all parties. They prove that collective effort can generate returns that are shared fairly among the settlers,” he said in his speech at the symbolic dividend handover ceremony held here yesterday.

Meanwhile, LKTNS General Manager, Datuk Syaheddrul R Joddari, said the achievement also reflects the effectiveness of the integrated estate development strategy implemented by the organisation.

“We are proud of the dedication shown by the settlers and the entire estate team. This success demonstrates that close cooperation and structured planning can deliver maximum benefits to the estate community,” he said.

He also acknowledged that the Nabawan Estate had faced various challenges, including extreme weather conditions and equipment constraints. However, the near RM1 million dividend distribution proves the resilience and capability of all parties in ensuring the sustainability and success of the estate’s development.

The ceremony was also attended by senior LKTNS management, estate managers, coordinators, and invited guests from the Western Region.

“The dividends distributed are expected to help settlers make preparations for Ramadan and Aidilfitri, in addition to improving family well-being and the local community economy,” said Syaheddrul.
