New Chairman Appointed to Lead SOGDC’s Strategic Direction

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Oil and Gas Development Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (SOGDC) hereby extends its congratulations and warmly welcomes the appointment of Datuk Ir. Shahelmey Yahya as Chairman of SOGDC with Ministerial status.


The appointment was followed by an official visit and briefing session by the Chairman at SOGDC’s headquarters, where he was received by the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Mr Mohd Azmir bin Datuk Ramli, together with members of SOGDC’s Senior Management team.


The visit reflected the Chairman’s early commitment to his role and responsibilities in steering the strategic direction of the organisation.


During the session, Yang Berhormat Datuk Ir. Shahelmey bin Yahya emphasised the importance of strong governance, effective monitoring of corporate performance, and integrated management of SOGDC and its subsidiaries.


He also expressed his intention to further strengthen SOGDC’s investment strategy by focusing on sustainable strategic investment opportunities, while ensuring that existing investments are implemented in an orderly manner and in line with the objectives set.


The management and entire workforce of SOGDC welcome this appointment and express their full commitment to working professionally and supporting the Chairman’s leadership in the implementation of the company’s corporate agenda and strategic policies. Continuous efforts will also be undertaken to uphold a work culture that is grounded in integrity, harmony and performance excellence.


SOGDC is confident that this new leadership will further strengthen the company’s role as a strategic state entity, and continue to contribute to the socio-economic development of the State of Sabah through a sustainable and high-impact approach.
