KENINGAU: Residents of Kampung Kikiran, Apin-Apin, will soon benefit from a new facility as construction of the Mini Community Hall that's currently underway, under the Sabah State Government’s rural development initiative.

The project forms part of the state’s ongoing efforts to strengthen infrastructure in rural communities, particularly through the leadership of Datuk Robert Tawik @ Nordin, Assistant Minister of Works Sabah and State Assemblyman for Bingkor.

The multi-purpose mini hall is being built to serve as a new hub for the local community, facilitating a wide range of activities such as village meetings, youth programmes, skills training sessions, rural development seminars, and festive celebrations.

Located within the Bingkor constituency, Kampung Kikiran has long required a more conducive and organised communal facility. The new hall is expected to fulfil that need, enhancing both the functionality and vibrancy of village life.

The project is being carried out under the supervision of the Sabah State Government, with active involvement and ongoing monitoring by Robert, who is widely recognised as a progressive leader attuned to the needs of rural communities.

Beyond providing a functional space for social and human development activities, the new facility is seen as a catalyst for fostering stronger community bonds, village unity, and collaborative spirit through gotong-royong (communal cooperation).

The construction of the Mini Community Hall in Kampung Kikiran aligns with the aspirations of the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) development blueprint, particularly in ensuring inclusive and sustainable rural infrastructure development.

More significantly, the initiative reflects the spirit of Robert’s leadership motto, “Bingkor Developing with the People” a testament to his commitment to placing the people’s interests at the heart of every policy and implementation stage.

Such facilities stand as symbols of inclusive development, demonstrating that progress is not confined to urban centres alone, but also reaches the most remote corners of the state. This marks yet another step forward for Bingkor, progressing together with its people.
