KAPAYAN: Construction has begun on new pickleball and volleyball courts at Taman Kapayan, marking a significant development for youth and community sports facilities in the area.

Site preparation is currently under way, with excavation works already in progress.

Former Kapayan State Assemblyman (ADUN) Datuk Jannie Lasimbang visited the site to inspect the progress and said the project was proposed last year, with implementation officially commencing this year.

For many years, Kapayan has lacked a dedicated volleyball court despite strong interest among local youths. The new facility is expected to address this shortfall by providing a proper and safe venue for organised sporting activities.

The inclusion of pickleball reflects the sport’s growing popularity both globally and locally, offering a modern, multi-generational game that promotes active and healthy lifestyles.

Jannie also expressed her appreciation to former Minister of Youth and Sports YB Hannah Yeoh for the funding allocation that enabled the project to proceed.

In addition to the construction of the new courts, repair works on more than 10 existing basketball courts throughout Kapayan have been completed, restoring safe and functional play spaces for neighbourhood youths.

It’s great to see new sports infrastructure being developed—projects like courts may seem simple, but they still require proper planning and coordination to avoid delays or rework. Today, many teams are shifting from traditional drafting to more advanced methods, and this guide https://mast-team.com/what-is-the-difference-between-cad-and-bim-in-construction/ explains how modern approaches improve accuracy and collaboration across construction projects.
