KUDAT: Deputy Chief Minister III and Sabah Minister of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport, Datuk Ewon Benedick, today officiated the opening of Norcy BeautyLab Sdn. Bhd.’s third factory in Matunggong.
The factory is owned by local woman entrepreneur Norsiah Ahiddin, who had previously established her first mini factory at the Matunggong Entrepreneurship Centre and her second factory in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan.
Ewon said the opening of the third factory marks a proud achievement not only for the entrepreneur concerned but also for the development of the entrepreneurship sector in Sabah.

“This success proves that local entrepreneurs are capable of growing from small-scale operations into larger enterprises that can penetrate markets beyond the state,” he said when officiating the factory here today.
Ewon also stressed that the state government, through the Ministry of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport (MINDET), will continue to support local entrepreneurs, including through grants, financing assistance and opportunities to participate in trade expos.
He said the effort is in line with the Sabah First aspiration, which aims to produce more Sabahans with income, either as business owners or as members of the workforce.
The opening of the factory is also expected to have a positive impact on the local economy by creating at least 15 job opportunities for residents.
At the event, Ewon also expressed his support by purchasing Norcy BeautyLab products to be shared with the visiting delegation.
