Parents Teachers Cooperation ensure students’ excellence

PUTATAN: Cooperation between schools and parents plays a crucial role in shaping students’ character as they prepare to face future challenges and responsibilities in the state.

Tanjung Keramat State Assemblyman (ADUN) Shah Alfie Yahya said the continuity of strong collaboration between schools and parents contributes to the holistic development and excellence of students, not only from home but also within the school environment.

He said the role of parents, through Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs), together with educators, is vital in enhancing the quality and standards of students’ learning processes, in line with the government’s aspiration to nurture future generations of leaders.

“Such collaboration is expected to foster a shared understanding of roles and responsibilities in efforts to improve the quality of teaching and learning in schools.

“In addition, PTAs play a complementary role to the Ministry of Education in providing infrastructure and creating a more conducive school environment for students,” he said.

Shah Alfie made these remarks in his opening address at the Annual General Meeting of the SMK Putatan Parent-Teacher Association here on Saturday.

Also present were Penampang District Education Officer Rusmadi Ahmad, SMK Putatan Principal Zarida Mohd Junaidi, and SMK Putatan PTA Deputy President Jamuludin Usman.

Elaborating further on the programme, Shah Alfie said it served as an effective platform for reaching shared resolutions to continue driving excellence at the school.

“In this regard, cooperation between parents and teachers at SMK Putatan is extremely important to ensure the school continues to achieve its vision of excellence.

“On behalf of the State Assemblyman’s office, we remain committed to working closely with the school to create a conducive environment for educators and students from time to time,” he said.
