KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Law Society (SLS) is appealing for donations in cash and in the form of gadgets to help Sabah students who lack access to digital technology to follow the home-based teaching and learning (PdPR) programme. SLS president Roger Chin said the COVID-19 pandemic has caused Sabahans to face challenges in their education pursuit as students especially in the rural areas tend to lack gadgets and face poor internet connection. “SLS is requesting for donations such as cash donations, smartphones, tablets and SIM cards which are three years old or newer as many applications required for online classes may not be supported in older gadgets,” he said in a statement here today.
Roger said SLS would do its best to help the affected students as it always supports the desire and passion to learn and broaden one’s horizons. He said donations in the form of gadgets can be dropped off at the SLS office at Menara MAA, Lorong Api-Api here while cash contributions can be sent to Public Bank account number 3215427827 (Sabah Law Society). - Bernama
