TAWAU: Some 250 people joined Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) at Kg Titingan in the Apas state constituency here on Thursday.

On hand to receive the membership forms from five village branch heads - Ridzkha Julhabiri, Aslinda Abdul Wahab, Alkadri Zairi, Irwan Mapiasah and Kismi Abdul - was PKR Central Leadership Council (MPP) member Datuk Christina Liew who is also Tawau MP.

"Syabas for choosing PKR as your political platform. Let us join forces in our struggle to seek justice as the name of the party implies - People's Justice Party. You are joining a Big House that always has the people's rights at heart.

"PKR is a people centric, multi-racial party with a fairness and justice approach for all across the board, regardless of ethnicity or religion," said Tawau MP Datuk Christina Liew.

Liew urged the members to work together with the PKR Tawau Branch leadership in organising activities and programmes.

Among those who witnessed the members' admission ceremony were Inanam Assemblyman Peto Galim, PKR Tawau Branch Head Fung Thin Yein and Tawau Parliamentary Liaison Officer Robert Penggai.

On Wednesday night, Liew gave out 500 national flags to the business operators and people during her walkabout at the Sabindo Night Market.

Earlier, she held a meet-the-people session with the village communities at Kg Iban Kuala Nansang and Kg Serudong Baru in the Balung state constituency.
