PPM Urged to Proactively Promote GRS Government Achievements with Integrity

KENINGAU: The Head of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) Central Polling District (PDM) for Keningau Station Bingkor, Yazid Mohd Hasnan Tawik @ Charles, has expressed his full support for the call by the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor, for all Community Development Leaders (PPM) to play a more proactive role in conveying the achievements, policies and initiatives of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) Government to the people in their respective areas.

He said that PPM are among the most important government machinery at the grassroots level, as they function as a direct link between the government administration and the community, particularly in delivering accurate information on policies, programmes and assistance implemented by the state government.

“PPM are not merely information disseminators; they are the voice of the government at the community level. Therefore, every PPM must carry out the responsibilities entrusted to them with honesty, sincerity and genuine commitment to ensure that the people truly understand the direction and efforts of the government,” he said in a statement today.

According to him, public understanding of government policies and achievements is crucial in countering misunderstandings, slander or inaccurate information that could undermine public confidence in the current government.

Yazid said that the appointment of PPM is not a privilege or a symbolic position, but rather a significant trust that demands high commitment, discipline and integrity in carrying out responsibilities for the benefit of the people and the development of the state of Sabah.

“PPM need to go to the ground, listen to the pulse of the people, understand real issues at the grassroots level and subsequently channel information and feedback to the government so that every policy formulated truly meets the needs of the people,” he said.

In this regard, he congratulated all PPM appointed by the Chief Minister and expressed hope that they would play their roles effectively and responsibly in supporting the state’s development agenda in line with the Sabah Maju Jaya aspirations.

Meanwhile, Yazid stressed that all appointed PPM must give unwavering support to the Chief Minister and the GRS Government to ensure political stability and the continuity of the state administration.

According to him, political stability is a key prerequisite for the successful implementation of development policies and programmes, particularly in strengthening the state’s economy, accelerating infrastructure development and improving the well-being of the people, especially in rural areas.

He added that with strong cooperation between PPM, the government leadership and the entire GRS machinery, efforts to empower state development can be implemented more effectively and comprehensively, thereby ensuring that the benefits of development are felt by all segments of society in Sabah.
