Reunion of SMK Gunsanad ex-teachers and former students

KENINGAU: Thirty-five former students and teachers of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Gunsanad Keningau gathered at Mee Woo Resort yesterday for a reunion, reaffirming the enduring bonds forged during their school days.
The event, was a social gathering that served as a reminder that the friendships built through shared experiences in school remain steadfast despite the passage of time.
Organised by Hazwan Abdullah @ Kiwit Louis, the reunion commenced with a speech reflecting on the importance of school days in shaping personal identities.
Notables were four teachers mainly Nik Zawawi Abdul Rahman who was accompanied by his wife, Sim Boon Seng, Mrs Jerry Koh, and Mohd Yusuf, whose presence rekindled nostalgic memories of classroom days.
Activities included lucky draws, group karaoke sessions, spontaneous dance performances, gift exchanges, and special moments such as a birthday celebration for Madin Gotir and a tribute in honour of Father’s Day.
The reunion highlighted that the ties of friendship and respect formed during school years remain unbreakable, transcending time and distance. It was a poignant reminder that school is not only about academic learning but also a place where lifelong bonds and values are nurtured.
In recognition of his contributions to the community, Nik Mohd Nadzri Nik Zawawi was celebrated during the event, symbolising the spirit of gratitude and giving that underpins the spirit of the reunion.
