KOTA BELUD: The government, through the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP), has allocated RM1.1 million for the implementation of the Madani Adopted Village and Madani Adopted School development projects in Kampung Kiau, here.

Its Minister, Datuk Ewon Benedick, said that out of the total, RM1 million has been allocated for the implementation of seven small-scale infrastructure projects in the village, while RM100,000 has been channelled to the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kiau.

He said the Madani Adopted Village development projects involve minor upgrading works for residential roads, agricultural roads, and public amenities in several zones of Kampung Kiau Nuluh, Kampung Kiau Taburi, and Kampung Kiau Bersatu.

“Among the projects being implemented are the upgrading of field access roads, community halls, clinics and village halls in Kampung Kiau Nuluh; construction of drainage in the Tebobon and Hongkung zones."

“Construction of an access road and culvert to the cemetery in Kampung Kiau Taburi; and the building of community roads and a drainage system in the Tomoduh zone of Kampung Kiau Bersatu,” he said.

He made these remarks following the Launching Ceremony of the Tourism Development Programme Through the Cooperative Movement and the Handover Ceremony for the MADANI Adopted Village and School in Kampung Kiau, held at the Kg Kiau Community Hall today.

Ewon added that, for the Madani Adopted School initiative, a total of RM100,000 has been allocated to the PTA of SK Kiau to support the school’s development needs.

“SK Kiau is my adopted school , it’s where I studied from Year 1 to Year 6. I hope this allocation will help address some of the development needs of my village, including those of SK Kiau,” he said.

He also urged the villagers to continue developing the village’s natural resources, particularly in the agriculture, tourism, and cooperative sectors, to further boost the socio-economic development of the local community.

Also present were the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Dato Sri Khairul Dzaimee Daud; the Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysian Cooperative Commission (SKM), Noor Affifah Abdul Razak; heads of KUSKOP agencies; and local village leaders.
