KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor, has emphasised the importance of civil servants alerting their superiors if they feel unable to effectively carry out their responsibilities. Speaking at the Sabah International Convention Centre, he stated that such transparency allows for redeployment and organisational improvement, ultimately benefiting the public.

Hajiji highlighted that public officers are strategic partners in translating government policies into tangible outcomes that impact the lives of Sabahans. “Civil servants are not merely order followers but vital contributors to government stability and progress,” he said. He reiterated that professionalism, neutrality, and a people-centred approach remain core to the civil service, which is the backbone of effective governance.

The Chief Minister also stressed the government’s commitment to integrity and discipline within the civil service. Initiatives to strengthen organisational governance include acquiring certification for the Quality Management System (MS ISO 9001:2015) and Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS 37001:2025), aimed at boosting transparency and efficiency.

Hajiji expressed gratitude to the people of Sabah for their continued support following the recent State Election, acknowledging the government’s progress in stabilising the state’s economy, governance, and development. He highlighted Sabah’s political stability, underscored by a two-thirds majority in the State Assembly, which facilitates constitutional reforms and administrative restructuring to meet evolving needs.

He concluded by reaffirming the government’s dedication to enhancing public service delivery and maintaining close cooperation with the Federal Government to safeguard Sabah’s interests.
