KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah State Government will be organising the Sabah State-Level Christmas Celebration from 16 to 19 December 2025 at Padang Merdeka, Kota Kinabalu.

The Chairman of the Main Organising Committee, Datuk Ewon Benedick, who is also the Deputy Chief Minister III and the Minister of Industrial Development, Entrepreneur and Transport, stated that, for the first time, the Christmas celebration previously organised by Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK) in collaboration with the Sabah Council of Churches (SCC) has been elevated to a state-level celebration.

This organisation reflects the openness and commitment of the Sabah State Government under the leadership of the Right Honourable Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor in supporting the celebration of religious festivals.

The celebration will be officially opened by the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sabah, Tun Datuk Seri Panglima MUSA Aman, on 16 December 2025, while the closing ceremony will be officiated by the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor, on 19 December 2025.

This year’s theme, “Pengharapan Damai Dalam Kasih” (Hope for Peace in Love), emphasises the values of unity, harmony, togetherness and mutual respect among the people of Sabah of diverse races and religions, in line with the Sabah First vision.

In addition to various stage programmes, a Community Banquet will also be held, involving 100 entrepreneurs from among local hawkers who will serve as suppliers of a wide range of dishes, as part of the Government’s support for micro and small enterprises.

In this regard, Ewon invites all Sabahans to attend and lend meaning and significance to this celebration.

Further information on the programme of events can be obtained through the official social media platforms of Datuk Ewon Benedick and the Sabah Ministry of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport, Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK), as well as the Sabah State Information Department.
