SANDAKAN: The Sabah Traditional Village Midwives Association organised a training course on the use of hot stones in body massage at the Mas Traditional Therapy Centre, Bandar Ramai-Ramai, here on Monday.

The one-day programme, held in collaboration with the Sabah Department of Women’s Affairs (JHEWA), was attended by 25 women from the Sandakan area, including traditional massage practitioners, spa therapists and housewives.

The association’s chairperson, Maslina Mohd Juinto, said the course provided participants with knowledge on the correct and safe use of hot stones in massage therapy.

Participants expressed their appreciation to JHEWA for organising the course, saying it had enabled them to better understand the proper techniques for using hot stones in body massage.

Maslina added that the association is planning to organise similar programmes next year.

She also conveyed her appreciation to JHEWA for its support and assistance in making the course a success.

The Sabah Traditional Village Midwives Association was established in 2023 and has been actively organising similar training programmes, particularly on postnatal massage, across eight districts in Sabah.
