SAFA denies negotiating to accept offer for sale of Sabah FC shares
7 November 2024
KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Football Association (SAFA) confirmed that it has never negotiated with any party claiming to have received an offer to sell shares in Sabah FC.
Its President, Datuk Shahelmey Yahya, stated that SAFA has not met with any individuals or representatives of those claiming to have received an offer for the sale of Sabah FC shares.
He emphasised that this includes informing the Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor, regarding the sale of Sabah FC shares.
"This statement is issued to clarify SAFA's and Sabah FC's position to avoid any confusion or misunderstanding regarding the claims," he said today.
Shahelmey commented on a statement made on the DSAT Facebook page that suggested an offer had been made to take over Sabah FC.
In the post, DSAT thanked the SAFA President, who is also the Deputy Chief Minister, for allegedly agreeing to offer Sabah FC, thus supposedly confirming that the offer had been communicated to the Chief Minister of Sabah.
