KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah DanceSport Association (SBDA), the sole recognised governing body for DanceSport in the state, paid a courtesy visit to Mohd Asneh Mohd Noor, Director of the Sabah Sports Council, recently.

During the meeting, the Council reaffirmed its full support for the upcoming Sabah DanceSport Championship 2025, scheduled to take place on 6 September 2025 at Kian Kok Middle School Hall.

Led by SBDA officials and committee members, the visit aimed to strengthen collaborative efforts to promote DanceSport as a dynamic and inclusive sporting discipline within Sabah.

Asneh commended the Association for its ongoing efforts in nurturing young talent and raising the sport’s profile both locally and regionally. He also encouraged primary and secondary schools across Sabah to incorporate DanceSport into their co-curricular programmes.

“We are proud to support this exciting and prestigious event,” Mohd Asneh said. “DanceSport is not only about rhythm and grace, it also promotes discipline, teamwork, and athleticism. We are pleased to see such passion and dedication from the Association.”

As the premier and only officially recognised DanceSport organisation in Sabah, the SBDA extends an open invitation to dancers from across Sabah and beyond to participate in this landmark competition. Whether amateur or seasoned, all are welcome to showcase their talent on a professional platform.
