SEC Strengthens Workplace Ethics and Safety Culture through First-Ever Integrity & Safety Day

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Energy Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (SEC) successfully held its inaugural Integrity & Safety Day on 13 and 14 October 2025, a two-day programme aimed at reinforcing the company’s culture of integrity and promoting a safe and healthy work environment across all its operations.


The event was officiated by Datuk Adzmir Abd Rahman, Group Chief Executive Officer of SEC, and attended by Tuan Haji Zulkifli bin Sulaiman, Director of the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Sabah; Tuan Alexander S. Kunghi, Deputy Director of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Sabah; as well as representatives from NIOSH, BOMBA, and strategic partners including Rehabwork Physiotherapy and HB Safety.


Also in attendance were representatives from SEC’s subsidiary and associated companies, Asian Supply Base (ASB) and SEC Gas Sdn. Bhd.

Day One of the programme centred on SEC employees, featuring engagement sessions with MACC and DOSH, integrity and safety pledges by staff, and a fire drill exercise conducted by BOMBA. Informational booths were also set up by MACC, DOSH, PPE suppliers, Rehabwork Physiotherapy, and other partners, offering participants hands-on exposure to best practices in workplace safety.


Day Two extended outreach to the community, welcoming students from SM Stella Maris, Tanjung Aru, who took part in integrity and safety awareness sessions led by MACC and NIOSH. Simultaneously, a blood donation drive and basic physiotherapy checks were held for SEC employees, subsidiaries, associates, and customers. Information booths continued to provide practical insights into upholding integrity and safety in daily life.


The programme was jointly coordinated by SEC’s Internal Audit, Integrity & Governance, Safety, Health & Environment, and Corporate Strategy divisions, together with Kelab Sukan & Rekreasi SEC, exemplifying the organisation’s strong spirit of teamwork and shared purpose in advancing integrity and safety excellence.
