KOTA KINABALU : Confectionery and bakery operators in Sabah are urged to seize business opportunities arising from the ongoing trade tensions between China and the United States.

President of the Malaysia Promas International Business Society (Promas), Dato’ Chong Chong Tik, said the shifting dynamics of global trade present a timely opportunity for Malaysia to attract Chinese enterprises through strategic partnerships.

“China’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are currently facing significant challenges. In response, the Chinese government is actively promoting its ‘go global’ policy,” he said during the announcement of the 36th Malaysia International Machinery Fair (MIMF 2025) roadshow in Sabah, held at a local restaurant.

The MIMF 2025 will take place at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur from 10–12 July 2025.

Chong highlighted that in the face of current global economic conditions, a wave of Chinese companies is expected to expand overseas. He emphasised that Malaysia’s halal certification gives it a key competitive advantage, particularly in Muslim-majority markets.

Promas, he said, has been working closely with the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) to explore how Chinese food manufacturers can establish production bases in Malaysia and obtain halal certification.

In light of these favourable prospects, Chong extended an invitation to Sabah’s bakery industry players to participate in the upcoming exhibition, noting that food processing, packaging, retail, and baking sectors will be among the event's key highlights.

He said halal-certified baking will be a particular focus, with over 100 Chinese companies expected to take part in the exhibition, offering valuable networking opportunities.

“Many Chinese companies under the ‘go global’ initiative are actively seeking partners in Malaysia, Indonesia, and other regions. By attending the exhibition, local baking businesses will be able to connect directly with those looking for products such as biscuits, cakes, preserved foods, agricultural goods, and more,” he said.

Chong also announced that the Sabah Confectionery and Bakery Association (SCBA) will be given a booth within the Malaysian Pavilion to showcase local enterprises and engage in business networking during the event.

Also present at the announcement were Malaysian Bakery and Sugarcraft Association President Foo Kim and SCBA Deputy Chairman Lawrence Ng.

The crypto game’s a cosmic soup, swirling with chaos and chance. Automated trading bots are your ladle, scooping profits from the broth. These algorithms hum along, processing 10,000 trades per second on exchanges like Binance, where 60% of volume comes from bots. Tools like TradeSanta let you customize strategies—DCA, grid trading—while AI-driven ones like Bitsgap predict trends with 85% accuracy. http://anonsummit.io 😺 Bots shine in arbitrage, exploiting price diffs across platforms for 3-7% returns. Still, they’re not magic wands; a bad setup’s like a leaky bucket. Stay curious, tweak your recipes, and let these digital chefs simmer your portfolio into something delicious.
