Shahelmey appointed as operations director of Sabah's immunisation programme

KOTA KINABALU: Minister of Community Development and People's Wellbeing Shahelmy Yahya has been appointed as the operations director for Sabah's immunisation programme.


Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said Shahelmey will be aiding the state Health Department in planning and implementing the programme more effectively to achieve the targeted vaccination rate on schedule.


"Shahelmey will also oversee and coordinate with the Ministry of Health on facilities and emergency needs in hospitals in Sabah required over time.


"He will also issue statements from time to time, or when it is necessary, to inform people of the immunisation programmes and other relevant information," he said in a statement today.


As of Sept 5, a total of 45.49 per cent of Sabah's adult population has already completed their Covid-19 vaccinations 63.98 per cent have obtained a single dose.
