KENINGAU: The SIB Ulu Keritan Women's Association has received a meaningful boost with financial support from Liawan State Assemblyman, Datuk Annuar Ayub Aman.

The support will allow them to attend the 29th Borneo Evangelical Church (SIB) Sabah Women’s Conference, set to take place on 29 June at KDCA Hall, Penampang.

The contribution was formally handed over during a brief ceremony at the Liawan UPPM Office.

Representing Annuar was Community Developer Hairul Ahmad Syam, while the association was represented by Manchiang Kumalu.

The state-level conference is expected to draw participants from SIB congregations across Sabah, focusing on strengthening the role of women as spiritual leaders, agents of family transformation, and pillars of community development.

Annuar’s support was welcomed as a reflection of his continued commitment to community-based initiatives, particularly those rooted in faith and empowerment. While modest in presentation, the gesture underscores a style of leadership that values substance over publicity.

“For rural communities such as Ulu Keritan, this support makes a real difference,” said a representative of the association.

“It allows us to take part in something meaningful while knowing that our leaders stand behind us.”

The contribution is part of Annuar’s broader approach to constituency service, which includes ongoing support for local initiatives in sports, welfare, and spiritual development.
