KENINGAU: St Francis Xavier Secondary School (SM SFX) successfully raised RM62,280 through its Jogathon 2026, which was held in a lively atmosphere with encouraging participation from the school community and local residents.
The programme, organised by the school in collaboration with the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and the School Board of Management, aimed to raise funds to support infrastructure development and enhance the implementation of co-curricular activities for the benefit of students.
The jogathon was officially launched by Rafie Robert, Chairman of the Keningau Tourism and Cultural Association, who commended the strong commitment shown by the school community in ensuring the event’s success.

In his speech, he said the amount raised reflected the strength of collaboration between the school, parents and the wider community in reinforcing the foundation of education.
“The success of this fundraising effort proves that when schools, parents and the community move in tandem, we are able to build a stronger educational foundation for future generations. Investment in education is a long-term investment that will determine the nation’s future,” he said.
He also expressed appreciation to all parties who contributed their commitment and support, including donors, teachers, parents and students who were involved directly or indirectly.
Meanwhile, the school described the successful organisation of the jogathon as a manifestation of unity and the community’s concern for the advancement of education.
The funds raised will be utilised transparently and strategically to upgrade school facilities and strengthen student character-building and leadership development programmes, in line with aspirations to nurture a competitive and well-rounded generation.
