2 September 2024

PENAMPANG: Solidarity among key parties is important in preparation for the upcoming state election.

The Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) Information Chief Datuk Joniston Bangkuai stated that a strong united front among Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (PGRS), STAR, and Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) in Kiulu is essential for the coalition’s success in the constituency.

“Our victory in Kiulu will be a victory for GRS, ensuring the continuation of the positive initiatives under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor,” he asserted during the N.15 GRS Solidarity Gathering held in Kiulu on Monday.

"We must embody the spirit of solidarity within the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), as it serves as the foundation of our strength in Kiulu. It is vital that PBS, STAR, and PGRS move forward together in unity."

“We need to stay on the same path and address differences of opinion with maturity and wisdom,” he added.

Among those present were Datuk Abdul Kassim Razali, Chief Political Secretary to the Chief Minister; Janih Bangud, PGRS Kiulu Division Chief; and Terence Sinti, STAR Kiulu Division Chief.

Joniston, who also serves as the PBS Kiulu Division Chief and the Kiulu Assemblyman, emphasized that every component party of GRS in Kiulu must effectively manage disagreements to ensure that no issues disrupt the coalition’s unity at the constituency level.

He urged GRS members in Kiulu to remain united and not be swayed by the opposition’s political tactics aimed at weakening the coalition.

Meanwhile, Terence reaffirmed STAR's full support for GRS in Kiulu, pledging to contribute to the coalition's success.

"We must demonstrate that GRS stands strong in Kiulu and continues to support the coalition’s leadership of the state government," he stated.

Echoing Terence’s sentiments, Janih emphasized the importance of holding regular GRS Solidarity gatherings to reinforce unity and maintain a strong spirit of solidarity in Kiulu.

He added that consistent engagement through these gatherings will help address emerging challenges and keep all members aligned with the coalition’s shared goals.
