KOTA KINABALU: The political stability currently enjoyed by Sabah must be continually safeguarded as the primary foundation for the state's progress and the people's well-being, said Chairman of the Bingkor Community Welfare Association, Yazid Mohd Hasnan Tawik @ Charles.

He expressed his support for the statement by the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor, who reaffirmed the State Government's commitment to strengthening political stability to ensure continuous development.

According to him, political stability is a critical element that not only guarantees smooth administration but also boosts public and investor confidence in the state's development direction.

He noted that the Chief Minister's inclusive and forward-thinking leadership has successfully created a stable administrative environment, thereby supporting the implementation of the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) 2.0 Development Plan.

“The implementation of SMJ 2.0 reflects the State Government's earnest efforts to bolster the economy, empower human capital, and ensure the people's well-being remains a top priority,” he said in a statement today.

At the same time, he urged all Sabahans, regardless of political background, ethnicity, or religion, to remain united and continue supporting state leadership to maintain the current stability.

“All parties must work hand in hand to preserve harmony, strengthen unity, and ensure the state's development agenda is successfully executed,” he said.

He also hoped that the spirit of Aidilfitri, which emphasises values of unity, tolerance, and togetherness, would continue to be nurtured as Sabah's primary strength in facing future challenges.
