KOTA KINABALU: Strong cooperation between the State Government and community organisations such as the Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah (FCAS) is essential to safeguarding the well-being of Sabah.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor said he believed that through such a spirit of cooperation, social stability would continue to be strengthened while advancing the people’s economy.
“This is in line with the State Government’s aspirations under the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya, which consistently emphasises inclusive and balanced development to ensure that all races and communities benefit from the state’s progress,” he said at the FCAS Angpow Festival at the Hakka Hall here tonight.
His speech was delivered by Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Joachim Gunsalam Deputy Chief Minister I and Minister of Works and Utilities.
According to Hajiji, FCAS, which comprises 160 Chinese associations from across the state and the Federal Territory of Labuan, plays a significant role in preserving cultural heritage, strengthening community unity, and contributing to Sabah’s social and economic development.
“The Angpow Festival organised by FCAS is not merely a festive celebration, but a symbol of unity, goodwill and the spirit of togetherness among the multi-racial community in this state.
“Our presence tonight reflects the harmony that has long been Sabah’s strength.
“The State Government therefore deeply appreciates the close cooperation established with the Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah across various fields, including education, social welfare, cultural activities and community development,” he said.
