LAMAG: Johainizamsahah Johari, Deputy Chief of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) for the Lamag state constituency (N.58), voiced his strong support for Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor amidst recent calls for his resignation from certain factions within the UMNO Youth Wing.
In a statement, Johainizamsahah expressed his concern over the pressuring remarks made by UMNO Youth leaders, specifically targeting the Chief Minister's position.
“These demands are not only unwarranted but also lack a sound basis at this time. Most of the issues being circulated are mere speculation that has yet to be substantiated,” he remarked. He emphasized the importance of allowing authorities to conduct necessary investigations without the interference of speculation.
Johainizamsahah criticised the hypocrisy of some UMNO leaders, suggesting that they should first address integrity concerns surrounding their own party members. He pointed out ongoing allegations against UMNO Sabah Liaison Chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, urging him to step down until his legal matters regarding corruption allegations are resolved.
“The integrity and credibility of our leaders are paramount. Bung Moktar’s issues not only tarnish his reputation but also affect public trust in the overall leadership of the state,” Johainizamsahah stated.
Highlighting the broader political implications, he cautioned against any actions that might cause further division between the Unity Government at both the federal and state levels. “Such demands without solid grounds can damage the relationships that are crucial for maintaining political stability in Sabah,” he warned.
Johainizamsahah called for all parties to cease their speculation surrounding sensitive issues, particularly the recent video clip controversy, and to allow relevant authorities to complete their investigations. He reaffirmed the necessity for politicians to prioritise the welfare of the people and to maintain ethical standards in political discourse.
“Our focus must remain on serving the people and implementing effective policies as outlined in the recent Sabah State Budget,” he concluded.
