KOTA KINABALU: Fiesta Mega Raya (FMR) 2026 is set to make history as the largest and most prestigious Aidilfitri festival ever held in the State of Sabah.

The event will take place over 12 consecutive days, from 7 to 18 March 2026, at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), Kota Kinabalu.

Fiesta Mega Raya 2026 is organised with the objective of uniting the essential elements of Aidilfitri celebrations, shopping, food and beverages, family entertainment, culture, lifestyle and entrepreneurship, within a well-structured, exclusive and internationally styled large-scale platform.

The event is supported by key strategic partners, including the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) as the official venue, relevant government agencies, media partners, corporate sponsors, as well as industry players from the automotive, financial, tourism and small and medium enterprise (SME) sectors. These strategic collaborations demonstrate strong confidence among multiple stakeholders in the potential of Fiesta Mega Raya 2026 as a high-impact event at both state and regional levels.

With an expected attendance of over 200,000 visitors throughout the event period, Fiesta Mega Raya 2026 is projected to attract visitors not only from across Sabah, but also from Sarawak, the Federal Territory of Labuan, Brunei Darussalam and international markets. The event is anticipated to contribute significantly to the growth of the local tourism industry and the wider regional economy.

Key highlights of Fiesta Mega Raya 2026 include the participation of hundreds of curated vendors, performances by renowned artists and celebrities, daily stage programmes, themed Aidilfitri zones, halal product exhibitions, and a wide range of family-friendly activities. These offerings are designed to deliver a vibrant, safe and high-quality festive experience for visitors of all ages.

According to Zainudin Kamaruddin, Chairman of Fiesta Mega Raya 2026, the event is envisioned as more than a festive celebration, but as a strategic initiative with long-term economic and social impact.

“Fiesta Mega Raya 2026 is not merely a festive event, but a high-impact platform aimed at empowering local entrepreneurs, stimulating the tourism sector, and fostering strategic collaboration between the public and private sectors. Our goal is to deliver an inclusive, well-organised and internationally standardised Aidilfitri celebration, in line with Sabah’s aspiration to become a premier destination for large-scale events,” he said.

Meanwhile, Hamizul Hafeez, Executive Director of Fiesta Mega Raya 2026, emphasised that the event has been meticulously planned with a strong focus on quality, safety and overall visitor experience.

“Fiesta Mega Raya 2026 has been comprehensively planned with the support of strategic partners and the participation of high-quality vendors to ensure meaningful value creation for all stakeholders. We are confident that this event will set a new benchmark for large-scale Aidilfitri festivals in Sabah,” he added.

Fiesta Mega Raya 2026 is also expected to serve as a catalyst for local economic growth, particularly in empowering SMEs, strengthening the creative industry, and enhancing the events and hospitality sectors, in alignment with the state’s broader economic development aspirations.
