The Qur’an as the Best Platform for Strengthening Unity

SANDAKAN: The Qur’an is not only the primary reference for shaping moral character but also a vital means of strengthening unity and addressing the challenges of contemporary life.

Sungai Manila State Assemblyman (ADUN), Hazem Mubarak Musa, said that in today’s digital era, the Qur’an should serve as a compass for life.

“…so that Muslims continue to remain steadfast, disciplined and guided by noble values,” he said when officiating the Sandakan District-level Qur’an Recitation Ceremony held here today.

He said that the Qur’an, when read, understood and practised, produces well-balanced individuals in terms of spirituality, intellect and character.

“This, in turn, contributes to the development of a harmonious and blessed society and nation,” he added.

In this regard, Hazem expressed hope that the recitation ceremony would nurture excellence among Muslims.

He also said that the event plays a role in promoting and strengthening Islamic teachings.

“This Qur’an recitation ceremony serves as a platform for knowledge and a means of uniting the ummah,” he said, adding that “it plays an important role in strengthening unity within the Muslim community.”
