KOTA KINABALU: The State Government has decided to allow three shopping malls that are listed in the Covid-19 Hostpot Identification for Dynamic Engagement (HIDE) to continue operating.

The shopping malls involved and announced are Suria Sabah Shopping Complex. Karamunsing Complex and Centre Point.

The HIDE list is formulated based on the number of individuals who have potentially been exposed to Covid-19 patients and have visited these buildings.

It was learned that the buildings were supposed to shut down for a period of three days to make way for sanitation works.

Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said the closure will only be implemented should there be any detection of Covid-19 cases and after risk assessment was conducted.

"The Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK) and the Malaysian People's Volunteer Corps (RELA) Department will be mobilised to control arrivals of visitors at the entrance of each of the premises.

"Visitors must always abide by the standard operating procedures (SOP), such as check-ins, face covering, social distancing and hand washing or sanitising."
