Tourism Minister Announces Extension of Visit Malaysia Year 2026 to 2027 at Jakarta Dinner Reception

JAKARTA , Indonesia: Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) Datuk Tiong King Sing announced that the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 campaign period has been extended until 31 December 2027 to offer tourists greater flexibility in exploring Malaysia’s attractions.
Speaking at the Dinner Reception for the Malaysian Business Mission to Indonesia in Jakarta on Tuesday evening, Tiong expressed delight at joining the Malaysian delegation alongside numerous Indonesian industry representatives.
He highlighted the strong regional friendship and longstanding bilateral ties between Malaysia and Indonesia.

“This mission is vital for strengthening strategic cooperation with Indonesian industry partners, particularly in promoting the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 Campaign,” he stated, noting the shared cultural ties, language, and values that underpin the kindred relationship between the two nations.
The Malaysian delegation comprises 50 organisations from diverse sectors, including state tourism boards, travel agencies, hospitals, airlines, hotels & resorts, MM2H agents, and operators of various tourism products and attractions.
Their presence underscores Malaysia’s commitment to expanding collaboration opportunities.

Tiong invited attendees to the Malaysia Food and Cultural Promotion event from 26 April to 2 May 2026 at Hotel Le Méridien Jakarta.
He also urged Indonesians to visit Kuala Lumpur this weekend for the World Labour Day and Water Musical Festival on Jalan Bukit Bintang, describing them as vibrant tourism attractions.
“Let us strengthen Malaysia-Indonesia ties through tourism, culture, and genuine friendship. Malaysia always looks forward to welcoming our friends from Indonesia!” he stressed .
