KENINGAU: A Malaysia Day Tree Planting Programme was held at Tiunung Riverside Camp, one of the district’s community tourism attractions, highlighting the messages of patriotism and environmental sustainability.
The event was officiated by the Chairman of the Keningau Tourism and Culture Association (KeTCA), Rafie Datuk Robert, who stressed the importance of such efforts in strengthening local tourism hubs.
“This programme not only fosters patriotism but also carries the message of environmental sustainability. We want community tourism sites like Tiunung Riverside Camp to remain beautiful, eco-friendly, and attractive for current and future generations. Greening the environment is a valuable legacy that we must continue together,” he said.

Beyond instilling national pride, the programme also aimed to raise public awareness of environmental conservation, while adding value to community-based tourism in Keningau.
The organisers expressed confidence that initiatives like this can enhance the spirit of togetherness and nurture a love for nature among the community.
