SANDAKAN: The three-day TVET Madani POLYCC Sabah Career Expo 2025 came to a close today at Politeknik Sandakan Sabah (PSS), strengthening Sabah’s drive to position Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a key engine of economic growth.
Assistant Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Datuk Harun Durabi, officiated the closing ceremony at the PSS Astaka, highlighting TVET’s vital role in advancing the agriculture, fisheries, and manufacturing sectors.
“TVET is the backbone of Sabah’s ambition to become the nation’s Food Valley. This expo is not merely a showcase but a strategic platform connecting students, graduates, the community, and employers,” he said.

A key highlight was the signing of Notes of Cooperation (NoC) and Letters of Intent (LoI) between TVET institutions and industry partners such as NS Agro Resources, Mark Aquaculture, Tagal Luanti, UMT, the Sabah Ornamental and Freshwater Fish Club, and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. The agreements aim to secure industrial training opportunities and job placements for graduates.
The expo also featured a Focus Group Dialogue with industry leaders to align skills training with market needs, alongside activities that attracted thousands of visitors, including the Aeroxplore Drone Challenge, 48 Hours Innovate Challenge, a 5KM Fun Run, and a blood donation campaign.
Politeknik Sandakan Sabah expressed gratitude to all partners and participants, pledging to continue empowering TVET as a catalyst for Sabah’s economic development.
