KOTA KINABALU: Two new Covid-19 clusters have been identified in Kota Kinabalu today, they are the 'Jalan Tiga KKIP' cluster and 'Lorong Bersatu Damai' cluster.
In a statement today, Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said, six new cases were recorded in the Jalan Tiga KKIP cluster today, bringing the cumulative total of positive cases in the cluster to 21 cases.
"The index case of this cluster was a worker of a chicken processing company who tested positive after undergoing a screening for symptomatic individuals at Telipok Health Clinic on Feb 13.
"The close contact and workplace tracing activities are still being conducted," he said.
For Lorong Bersatu Damai cluster, it has a cumulative total of 11 positive cases, including 10 cases recorded today.
"The index case was detected through a patient procedure screening in a hospital ward on Feb 4.
"Close contact tracing is still being actively conducted to trace the transmission of Covid-19," Masidi said.
Sabah today registered a total of 132 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the tally of statewide infections to 50,855 cases.
Four more Covid-19 fatalities were also reported with two recorded in Tawau, and one each in Putatan and Sandakan.
