KUALA LUMPUR: Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing has urged all personnel under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) to work in unison and act swiftly during the Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026).
In a Facebook statement, Tiong said success could only be achieved through teamwork, stressing that this year was not an ordinary one and required stronger commitment, faster action and more strategic planning to attract international tourists.
He described VM2026 as a catalyst for long-term tourism development, emphasising that efforts must extend beyond 2026 to establish a solid foundation for sustainable growth.
Tiong highlighted the importance of cultural tourism, noting that Malaysia’s heritage, arts, traditions and ethnic diversity are strategic assets that can differentiate the country on the global tourism stage while offering visitors meaningful experiences.
He also urged MOTAC’s overseas offices and agencies to communicate clearly, adhere to timelines, and find solutions collectively when challenges arise.
“MOTAC is the face of Malaysia to the world. We are not merely administrators; we are promoters of the nation. Unity, adaptability and commitment are key to ensuring the success of Visit Malaysia 2026,” he said.
Tiong concluded by expressing his appreciation to MOTAC staff and agencies for their dedication, calling for continued collaboration for the benefit of the nation, its people, and the future of Malaysia.
