KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Joanna Datuk Kitingan and Mary Gambidau have been appointed as Co-Chairs of the Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan (UNK) 2025 Working Committee.


Their appointment was confirmed on Tuesday with appointment letters presented by Datuk Leonard Stephen Poyong, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food Industry, who also serves as Secretary of the Kaamatan Festival Main Organising Committee.


Datuk Joanna, renowned as a champion of Kadazandusun heritage, has extensive experience in cultural preservation and women's empowerment. She also served as the Chairperson of UNK 2024.


Meanwhile, Mary Gambidau, who currently serves as the Principal of All Saints Secondary School and is a member of the Central Committee of the Kadazandusun Cultural Association (KDCA), brings expertise in education and community leadership.


UNK 2025 is expected to continue showcasing the uniqueness of Kadazandusun heritage while strengthening community unity.


This year's Kaamatan Festival will be officially launched in Tambunan on 1 May.-source Daily Express
