Unpredictable Weather Calls for Heightened Vigilance, Says Minister

KOTA KINABALU: The public has been urged to remain highly vigilant and prepared as current weather conditions remain unstable and difficult to predict, according to Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup.


In a Facebook posting, Arthur said the prevailing weather situation requires a heightened level of alertness from all segments of society to minimise risks and ensure public safety.


He advised members of the public to exercise caution at all times, particularly when travelling or going about their daily activities. The public was also reminded to avoid high-risk activities, adhere to advice and directives issued by the authorities, and prioritise the safety of themselves and their families.


He expressed hope that the community would remain safe and be granted ease in managing their affairs as they navigate the current challenging weather. conditions.


The authorities, he added, will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary to ensure public safety.
