UPKO Moyog Candidate Datuk Donald Peter Mojuntin Expresses Full Support for Kapayan Candidate Billy Joe Dominic

PENAMPANG: Datuk Donald Peter Mojuntin, United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (UPKO) candidate for N.26 Moyog, has expressed his full support for UPKO N.25 Kapayan candidate Billy Joe Dominic.

“I have read the two statements released by our UPKO N.25 Kapayan candidate, Billy, and I must say this: Billy speaks with the heart of a true anak (child of) Penampang. What he raised is not politics, it is the voice of our people, a voice that cannot be ignored,” said Donald.

“When Billy Joe reminds us of the promise he made in 2022 to bring back democratic elections for our JKKK, it touches the heart, because this is the kind of leadership our community deserves. Leadership that remembers. Leadership that fights on. Leadership that never forgets where it came from,” he added.

Donald emphasised the importance of kampung communities having the right to choose their own JKKK. “The right for kampung communities to choose their own JKKK is not a small issue. It is about dignity. It is about trust. It is about empowering our community. I stand with Billy Joe, fully and wholeheartedly. This should be implemented. Our kampungs deserve to decide their own JKKK chairman, and not have it decided for them.”

On the issue of parking fees, he said, “Billy Joe is again speaking the truth in tandem with the many disgruntled voices. Penampang is a district where people drive because they have no other choice. To burden families, hawkers, small traders, and daily workers with high parking fees, especially without proper public transport, is simply not fair.”

He added, “Billy has been raising this since 2024. He was ignored then. But he did not give up. That persistence is the mark of someone who truly fights for the rakyat. On this issue, I stand beside him without hesitation. Penampang deserves transparency, fairness, and policies that reflect the real lives of our people.”

Donald also urged voters in Kapayan and Moyog to support UPKO candidates. “If the people of Kapayan and Moyog choose UPKO’s candidates, Billy Joe in N.25 and myself in N.26, let me say this with full sincerity: You will have a team that works together, stands together, and serves together. Under the leadership of Datuk Ewon Benedick in Penampang, we will bring unity, continuity, and a spirit of service that is not driven by fear or empty promises: but by love for our community and the belief that Penampang deserves better.”

He concluded, “This is personal for us. This is about our home. This is about our people. And together, we will not let them down.”
