KOTA KINABALU: United Progresive Kinabalu Organisation (UPKO) Women Movement of Sepanggar has voiced full and unwavering support for UPKO president Datuk Ewon Benedick following his bold decision to resign from his federal ministerial post in defence of Sabah’s 40% revenue rights under the Federal Constitution.
In a statement today, it's chief Helena Dosuih hailed Datuk Ewon’s move as a “courageous and principled act” that embodies true leadership and integrity.
“Datuk Ewon’s decision is a reflection of leadership with conviction. He has proven himself to be a walk-the-talk leader, one who prioritises the rights and dignity of the people of Sabah over personal or political gain,” she said.
She added that the UPKO president’s stand resonates deeply with the hopes and aspirations of Sabahans seeking fairness, justice, and respect for the state’s constitutional rights.
“His action will strengthen our unity and determination to continue the struggle for Sabah’s rightful share,” Helena stressed.
Reaffirming their commitment, she said UPKO Women Sepanggar stands firmly behind Datuk Ewon in his “noble cause for the people and future of Sabah.”
