KOTA KINABALU: United Sabah National Organization (USNO) is to see reform on February 28 after 12 party divisions have qualified for the 2021-2024 term elections.

USNO election secretary Datuk Nani Sakam noted them as Kudat, Kota Marudu, Kota Belud, Tuaran, Sepanggar, Kota Kinabalu, Putatan, Kimanis, Beaufort, Sipitang, Libaran and Semporna divisions.

"Nomination forms for the nine positions from party president down to division leaders went on sale yesterday. Proceeds will be return to the party funds.

"Submission deadlines for division level is on 25 Jan and central level postions on Feb 22," he told a press conference at USNO headquarters in Wisma Merdeka here, today.

Five separate USNO divisions however forfeited their nomination chances for being "outdated". They are Papar, Ranau, Tawau, Keningau and Kalabakan.

Nani said Tan Sri Pandikar Amin will be acting as advisor throughout the process as general chairman with criteria based on the party guidelines.

"And by then it would be all up to USNO's leadership if they should wish to contest for parliamentary seats," he said when asked of the upcoming general elections.

Until then, USNO, which Nani remarked moves independently from GRS has around 200 members and 10 delegates for each division in Sabah.
