KOTA BELUD: Yayasan Koperasi Serbausaha Makmur Berhad (KOSMA) has allocated more than RM300,000 to mentor 30 local entrepreneurs in Sabah through the JORAN 2.0 Entrepreneurship and Skills Programme.
The four-day programme, held at Wendu Inn Tag Valley Taginambur, was organised in collaboration with Mahabbah Malaysia.
Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (MEDC) Minister, Datuk Ewon Benedick, expressed his appreciation to Yayasan KOSMA for implementing JORAN 2.0 in Sabah, aimed at empowering local entrepreneurs through comprehensive guidance and support.

“Under this programme, 30 entrepreneurs were selected to participate in mentoring sessions supported with equipment, business capital and monitoring for up to six months.
“I value the contribution and role of Yayasan KOSMA in complementing the efforts of the Government and the Ministry in developing entrepreneurship in our country,” he said.
He made the remarks when met by reporters after officiating the closing ceremony of the JORAN 2.0 Entrepreneurship and Mentorship Programme at Tag Valley, Taginambur, today.
Ewon, who is also a State Assemblyman (ADUN), expressed hope that the selected participants would continue to achieve success and serve as inspiration and motivation for other entrepreneurs, just as the participants of JORAN 1.0 had done.
“May the participants continue to succeed and inspire other entrepreneurs to strive for success,” he said.
Meanwhile, KOSMA Chairman, Datuk Zamri Mohamed, said more than RM300,000 had been allocated to implement the programme in Sabah.
He highlighted that the success of JORAN 1.0 proved the effectiveness of this approach, as the first batch of 30 participants managed to increase their combined income from RM300,000 to nearly RM500,000 within six months.
“We hope the JORAN 2.0 participants will achieve even greater success and become a catalyst for the growth of new entrepreneurs nationwide,” he said, adding that the next series of the programme will be held in Pahang.
