10 JAN 2021

KOTA KINABALU: Some 100 visitors of an entertainment outlet at Waterfront were each compounded for failing to adhere to the Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP), last Saturday night.

City police chief ACP Habibi Majinji said it was the third time that the outlet was compounded for the same offense.

During the raid at around 10pm, it was discovered that the visitors at the outlet were not observing social distancing.

"Upon further inspection, it was found that the trading license of the premises has expired.

"The premises uses a license for cafe instead, but they operate with loud music as if they are an entertainment outlet," he said.

Apart from taking stern stern action against all the flouters and the owner of the premises, Habibi said police will also seize their audio equipment for further investigation.
