244 NEW COVID-19 CASES RECORDED IN SABAH ON WEDNESDAY

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah today recorded 224 new Covid-19 cases, a slight increase compared to yesterday’s 224, bringing the cumulative total of statewide infections to 71,189.
Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun, 80 cases out of the total were detected through close contact screening, while 63 were detected through cluster screening, 59 through targeted screening, 26 through symptomatic screening and 16 from other categories.
To date, there is only one green zone left which is Beluran district while 18 districts have been declared red zones, one orange zone and seven yellow zones.
"The number of active cases now stands at 1,686 with 410 treated at hospitals, 1,154 in quarantine centres and 122 in temporary detention centres.
"The number of patients treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) is 61 with 19 requiring ventilator support," Masidi said in a statement.
As for recoveries, a total of 228 discharges were reported today, bringing the cumulative total of recoveries in Sabah to 68,536.
